Commissioned by Shey Rivera Rios for a public art project, Mi Gente Siempre Responde. My piece touches on the topic of vaccination.

“Mi Gente Siempre Responde!” or Mi Gente Public Art is a community-based public art project that celebrates the health care workers from our neighborhoods, who represent a wide variety of cultures and ethnicities. In this new phase of the project, we are helping to promote vaccination in our communities. Three Latinx visual artists in Rhode Island have been commissioned to create artworks for a new set of large-scale vinyl banners. The selected artists are: @agonzaart, @berroaworld, and @anabel.vazquez.rodriguez, and their artworks are now installed at Providence Community Health Centers and One Neighborhood Builders community sites. This public art project is named after a lyric from the song “Mi Gente” by salsa giants Hector Lavoe and La Fania and is produced by artist Shey Rivera Ríos.
